Licensing

Providers listed for India are licensed money transfer operators that route inward remittances through Reserve Bank of India (RBI)–authorised channels.

Personal transfers into India are processed via RBI-regulated Authorised Dealer Category-I banks, using the Rupee Drawing Arrangement (RDA) or Money Transfer Service Scheme (MTSS). Unlike Ethiopia and the Philippines, the RBI does not issue a single public list of licensed remittance brands — instead, each provider operates through one or more RBI-authorised banking partners. We verify this partnership before listing any provider. We do not list or promote unlicensed transfer services.

How we get our data

We fetch pricing data directly from each provider's public pricing tools. Rates are updated every 6 hours. Exchange rates and fees change frequently — the actual rate you receive may differ based on payment method, transfer amount, and timing. Always confirm the final rate on the provider's site before sending.
